William "Bill" Albert Rowley, 74, a longtime Stewartville, MN resident, died on Friday (May 15, 2026) of natural causes following a long-term illness atMayo Clinic Rochester - St. Mary’s Campus.
William Albert Rowley was born on March 26, 1952 in Rochester, MN to Demond and Margaret (Dahlke) Rowley. He grew up on the family farm in rural Stewartville, attended and graduated from Stewartville High School. He was employed at the Greenway Co-op Bulk Plant as a delivery driver. He was owner/operator of Rowley Realty in Stewartville until his health caused an early retirement. He was an excellent cook and during his life was employed part-time at various Stewartville area restaurants. Bill was married on April 16, 1977 and later divorced. He moved into
Stewartville in 1991 where he continued to make his home.
Bill was a past member of St. Bridgets Catholic Church. He was a past member of the Stewartville Jaycees, the Stewartville Lions and the Stewartville Sportsmens Club. He also served on the Stewartville City Council as councilman.
Bill is survived by his son - Richard "Rich" (Nicole) Rowley of Stewartville and their children Payton Rowley and Rhys Rowley both of Stewartville; sister Rose Olmsted of Albert Lea, MN and brother Edward (Jan) Rowley of Rochester and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Rowley, brother Demond “Mike” Rowley and nephew Caleb Rowley.
In keeping with Bill 's wishes, no services or visitation will be held at this time. A private family burial and committal service will take place at St. Bridgets Catholic Cemetery in Simpson, MN at a later date. Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray FH in Stewartville.
