Ronald A. Piedmont, 82, of Stewartville, MN died on Wednesday ( November 29, 2023) of natural causes at St. Charles Assisted Living in St.Charles, MN.
Ronald Anthony Piedmont was born on January 31, 1941 in Montpelier, Vermont to Ralph and Florence (DeFino) Piedmont. He grew up in Anaheim, CA and graduated from Colonist H S. in 1959 in Anaheim. He enlisted into the US Navy serving four years as an electronic engineer including ship duty overseas. Following his discharge, he returned to California and visited shipmate Robert English in his home state of Minnesota, where he met his sister - Suzanne. Ronald was married on September 12, 1964 in Winona to Suzanne M. English. Following their marriage the couple lived in St. Louis, MO, before moving to Anaheim, CA. and then Santa Clara, CA where they raised their sons and lived for many years. Ronald was employed for many years as an engineering technician in the microchip manufacturing industry until his retirement. Suzanne was a homemaker and longtime employee at Rolm Corp. in Santa Clara as a tele-communications supervisor, at the time of her retirement. The Piedmonts moved to Stewartville in 2005. Mrs. Piedmont died on July 16, 2018.
Ronald was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville and was an active member of the Stewartville Morning Lions. He enjoyed golfing, reading, walking and was a SF Niners and Giants fan and a MN Twins and Vikings fan. Ronald enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors and loved time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Ron is survived by 2 sons – William of Stewartville and Steven and Annie and grandchildren -Vivian and Victoria of Gilbert, AZ; a sister – Suzanne Evans of Santa Clara, CA and brother Allen(Diane) Piedmont of Cupertino, CA; nieces – Leslie (Chris) Ferguson; Kristin (Mike) Stoning and their children – Bailey and Dylan ; Christine Piedmont and Marissa Piedmont. He was preceded in death by his wife Suzanne, his parents and 1 brother – Joseph Piedmont.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday (December 11, 2023) at Griffin-Gray FH in Stewartville with a prayer service at 7:00 PM officiated by Pastor David Hoot. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville. Condolences and memories of Ronald are welcome at www.griffin-gray.com.
