Paul H. Towey

The Prayer service for Paul H. Towey, 67,  formerly of Stewartville,MN and a longtime  Nerstrand, MN resident will take place at  4:30  P.M. on Wednesday (September 1, 2021) at St. Bernards Catholic Church with Father Kevin Connelly officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.  Mr. Towey died on Monday (August 23, 2021) of natural causes at the Emeralds Rehabilitation Center in Fairbault,MN  where he had been a patient for four weeks.

Paul Harold Towey was born on December 20, 1953 in Rochester, MN to Harold and Helen (Carroll ) Towey.  Paul was born with special needs and grew up on the farm in rural Stewartville.  He attended Stewartville Special Education classes and graduated from Stewartville High School in 1971. He lived with his parents in Stewartville for a number of years and for a time in managed care in Rochester, MN before moving to Nerstrand  where he lived at Our Circle of Friends Group Home and Farm. He lived at the Group home for  many years and worked his dream job at the Nerstrand Agri Center. He was a past member of St. Bernards Catholic Church in Stewartville.  He volunteered with the local Meals on Wheels chapter in Nerstrand. He enjoyed playing cards, reading farming magazines and watching the local news on TV. Paul was a weather expert and was always keeping an eye on the weather where anyone he knew resided.

Paul is survived by many loving cousins.  He is also survived by his amazing supporting and caring family at Our Circle of Friends and his workmates at Agri Center in Nerstrand.  He was preceded in death by his parents  Harold and Helen Towey and his long-time guardian and cousin, Jerry Towey.
