Lois A. Chilson

The memorial service for Lois A. Chilson , 82, formerly of Stewartville,MN  will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday (November 6,  2021) at Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville. A time of visitation will take place from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville. Mrs. Chilson  passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 after a long battle with cancer, at  Health First Hospital In Palm Bay,FL. where she had been a patient for a few days.

Lois Ann Christianson was born September 19, 1939 in Lanesboro, MN to Red and June( Norton) Christianson. She  moved to Stewartville as a young girl with her family, where she grew up, attended Stewartville H.S. , was voted  homecoming queen and graduated in 1957. Lois was married on November  24, 1966 in Rochester,MN  to her loving husband, Alan Chilson.  They made their home in Stewartville for many years and grew a beautiful family together.  Lois worked for Estee Lauder at Daytons Department Store in Rochester,MN  for nearly 40 years before retiring, making her one of their longest working employees. Alan was a longtime employee of the City of Stewartville until his retirement.  Mr. Chilson  died on January  29, 2010.  Lois continued to make her home in Stewartville before permanently moving to Florida. Lois enjoyed having gatherings and dinners with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved traveling around the world and going on cruises with her one and only beloved sibling, her twin sister Laurel Crowe. In 2017, Lois was diagnosed with cancer while in Indialantic, Florida so she stayed there for treatments, living with her sister, but Stewartville was always her home. She truly lived life to the fullest, and enjoyed every aspect of it.

Lois is survived by her daughter - Lisa Roulette (Lloyd Dahl) of  Bema,MN and her  son - Christopher Chilson (Trista Fjerstad) of rural Byron,MN; 11 grandchildren - Laurissa Chilson,  Andrew Chilson,  Grace (Andrew) Sterne,  Alexander Block,  Ivan Smith,  Tyler Chilson,  Lucas Jordan (Jessie Hale),  Rose Sayers (David Pafko),  Nick Lyons, Cooper Chilson, and Tucker Chilson  as well as 9 great-grandchildren – Iris, Hazel and Piper, Sebastian and Elijah, Allister, Rowan,  Kendle and Nettie ; her sister – Laurel Crowe of Indialantic,FL and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Alan and her parents.
