A Celebration of Life for Linda S. Runkle, 62, of Rochester,MN and formerly of Stewartville, MN will be from 2 to 4:00 P.M. on Saturday(June 27, 2020) at the Heritage House(309 N. Main St.) in Stewartville. Linda died on Tuesday (February 18, 2020) of natural causes at Mayo Clinic Rochester – St. Marys Campus.
Linda Sue Ewald was born on November 13, 1957 in Rochester to David and Regina(Gillespie) Ewald. She grew up in Stewartville and attended school there, graduating from Stewartville H.S. in 1976. Linda was married on July 19, 1974 at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville to Larry Runkle. Following their marriage the couple lived in Stewartville and then rural Grand Meadow,MN. They were later divorced. Linda was employed for a number of years at D&R Star in Rochester and was also employed part-time with her son – Tory and as a waitress at area restaurants. Linda had most recently been attending Sunday services at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester. She was a good athlete and was an avid league softball player. She enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Linda is survived by 2 daughters and 1 son – Tonya(Paul ) Sands of Kasson,MN; Tage Runkle of Byron,MN and Tory Runkle of Rochester; 6 grandchildren – Jade Sands, Shae Sands, Kennedy Runkle, Aaron Sands, Calvin Cray and Tommy Runkle; her father- David Ewald of Rochester; her sisters – Roxanne Lane of Tuscon,AZ and Nicole McAllister of Hayfield,MN; brother-in-law – Tom Mullenbach of Stewartville and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother – Regina, her sister – Patty Mullenbach and brother – Dave Ewald.
Burial and a private family committal service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville. Condolences and memories of Linda are welcome at www.griffin-gray.com.
