12/09/2011 - The funeral service for June C. Wilson, 90, a longtime Racine,Mn. resident, will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday (12-13-11) at the United Methodist Church in Racine with Rev. Glen Holland officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery in rural Racine. Mrs. Wilson died Thursday (12-8-11) of natural causes at the Stewartville Care Center where she had been a resident since 2007.June Caroline Lawson was born June 11, 1921 in Racine,Mn. to George and Lillian(Nelson) Lawson. She grew up in Racine and attended Racine School. June was married on Dec. 29, 1940 in Oronoco to Vernon O. Wilson. Following their marriage the couple lived in Racine where they raised their family and lived all their married life. Mrs. Wilson was employed at First State Bank in Racine and Grand Meadow for 35 years until her retirement in 1995. Mr. Wilson was owner-operator of Vernon O. Wilson Implement in Racine for many years. He died on March 31, 2001 and Mrs. Wilson moved to Stewartville in 2005. She was a longtime member of the Racine United Methodist Church and was active in it's Ladies Aid and volunteered as an election judge for the City of Racine. She enjoyed camping, fishing, knitting, crafts, playing cards and time spent with family, especially her grand and great grand-children.Surviors include her three sons - Glenn(Marilyn) of Racine/ Ron(Tobi) of Pullman,Wa./ Todd(Sheila) of Grand Meadow,Mn./ 7 grand-children and 9 great grand-children/ her sister- Florence(Harold) Hegg of McHenry, Ill., and sister-in-law - Phyllis Lawson of Plainview,Mn. and numerous neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband - Vernon, daughter - Sharon, her parents, an infant sister -Mildred and two brothers -Howard and Clinton. Friends may call from 4 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday(12-12) at Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville,Mn. and 1 hr. prior to the service at the church on Tuesday morning.Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville. www.griffin-gray.com
