Judy Kay Finley

Judy K. Finley, 59, a lifelong Stewartville, MN resident died on Monday, April 13, 2026, loving family by her side, at her home, following a lengthy illness with cancer.

Judy Kay Miner was born on November 13, 1966 in Rochester, MN to Maynard and Marlene (Sande) Miner. She grew up in rural Stewartville where she attended school and graduated from Stewartville HS in 1985. Judy was married on February 12, 1994 at the Stewartville United Methodist Church to Chet H. Finley. Following their marriage the couple lived in Stewartville where they raised their children and have continued to make their home. Judy was a homemaker and was employed as a pharmacy technician for many years at GuidePoint Pharmacy in Rochester until her
retirement. Chet was owner of Finley Tile for many years.   

Judy was a lifelong active member of the Stewartville United Methodist Church where she volunteered with its Sunday school, Ladies activities and church celebrations where she was often one of the lead cooks. She liked cooking for big groups and for her kid’s “strays” when they brought them home. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and time spent with her Mommy Cocktail group. Judy enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors and loved time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.

Judy is survived by her husband – Chet and her daughter Katie(Jesup) Helget and 3 grandchildren – Jesa, Zoe and Mavis of Forest Lake, MN and son – Joseph(Sara) Finley of Ft. Riley, KS and grandchild on the way!; Father-in-law – Howard Finley of rural Stewartville; 3 sisters-in-laws – Julene(Clint) Hartman of Rochester; Nancy(Matt) Urban of Stewartville and Charlene(Trevor) Wibben of rural Stewartville. She was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law - Faye Finley.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday (April 25, 2026) at the Stewartville United Methodist Church with Rev. Jef Olson officiating. A time of visitation for family and friends will be from 10 AM until time of service at the church on Saturday morning. A private family burial and committal service will take place at Union Cemetery in Pleasant Grove, MN at a later date. Arrangements are with Griffin-gray FH in Stewartville.
