Henry Lee Haack was born August 5, 1935 in Sidney, NE to Hugo and Anna Schwartz Haack. He moved with his family as an 8 yr. old to rural Stewartville, grew up on the family farm, attended a country school and graduated from Stewartville H.S. in 1953. He enlisted into the U.S. Army serving 2 years in the Army Air Corps as a helicopter mechanic. Following his discharge, he returned to SE Minnesota where he began farming and was employed at IBM in Rochester. Henry was married in 1962 to Anne Irene O’Byrne. They were later divorced. Henry was employed at IBM for many years, until his retirement in 1987. He split his time in the warm months at his cabin in Park Rapids, MN  and winter months at his home in Pharr, Tx. He was a past member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Stewartville, where he learned to love the Bible and became a life-long Christian. He was a proud member of the Republican Party. Henry was very mechanical, developing many inventions for IBM and on his farm and flying his ultra-lite plane. He enjoyed square and round dancing with Jean, fishing and boating and was a Dallas Cowboy fan.  He enjoyed time spent with his many friends and neighbors and his family

Henry is survived by sister-in-law Darlene Haack of Rochester, brother-in-law Phillip Stoltenberg of Spring Valley, MN and many nieces and nephews, special friend and life partner of 19 years, Jean Nelson of rural Stewartville, her children and their families.
