Hans P. Jorgensen,52, of rural Stewartville, MN died on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from complications of a lengthy illness.
Hans Peter Jorgensen was born on September 8, 1968 in Rochester, MN to Knud and Wilma (Bufton) Jorgensen. He grew up on the family farm and attended Stewartville Schools. He graduated from Stewartville H.S. in 1987. He then attended Rochester Automotive School and was employed by Mack Truck in Rochester. After that he worked with Knud and Wilma on their dairy farm for many years. In 2003, Hans began an apprenticeship with Sheetmetal Workers Local 10 in Rochester. In 2007, he became a journeyman mainly employed by Hi-Mec in Rochester and WHV in Winona, MN.
Hans had two children with Kelly Betts – Garret and Haley. Hans was immensely proud of his children. He thoroughly loved and supported everything they did. If it was watching Garret perform in theater or color guard to cheering on the sidelines at Haley’s football and baseball games.
Hans was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville. He was an avid motorcyclist, who was a proud Victory motorcycle enthusiast. He covered many miles on his Victory motorcycles including the southernmost point in Key West to the Artic Circle and everywhere in between. He was a competitive pool league player as well as competing in pool competitions. He also enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, and following the Vikings. Hans loved his coffee as well as visiting and spending time with family and friends.
Hans is survived by his son and daughter, Garret and Haley at home in rural Stewartville; his father, Knud Jorgensen of rural Stewartville; sisters: Marie (Todd) Amy of Stewartville; Jessie Jorgensen; brother, Keith (Sherri) Jorgensen both of Stewartville and nieces and nephews; Corey (Sabrina) Jorgensen, Annabelle, Jack and Oscar Jorgensen and Grace Amy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma and his brother, Erik and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
The memorial service for Hans will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Byron Meline and Rev. Kim Kyllo officiating. Burial will take place at a future date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville. A time of visitation for family and friends will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday afternoon.
