Frank Twohey passed away on August 29, 2021 at his home after a 10 month battle with leukemia. Frank was born on May 22, 1938 to Clarence and Margaret Twohey. He grew up in the Simpson area and was a lifelong member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church. On August 22, 1959 Frank married Marilyn Lecy. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary with their entire family a week before his passing. Frank worked for IBM for 33 years and was a lifelong farmer.
Frank is survived by his wife, Marilyn, children Ed (Sherri) Twohey, Karen (Jerome) Sheehan, and Bill (Jean) Twohey; grandchildren Theresa (Nick) Reps, Eric Twohey, Tim Twohey, Jessica Twohey, Jacob Twohey, Katherine (Joel) Nelson, Tom (Laura) Sheehan and Ellen Sheehan; great-grandchildren - Madelynn and Mason Reps, Ada Nelson and Harrison Sheehan; brothers Gerald Twohey and Robert (Karen) Twohey, and his dog Rusty. Frank was preceded in death by his infant son, James, twin grandsons Matthew and Michael Twohey, parents, and sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Dave Mulvihill.
The Twohey family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and staff who cared for him, especially Dr. Saliba. Frank received many blood transfusions during his illness, the family is so appreciative for all of the blood donors at Mayo Clinic. These donations enabled him to have more time with his family.
The Funeral Mass for Frank will be held on Thursday, September 2 at 10:30 am at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, in Simpson with Rev. Kevin Connolly officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, September 1 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Bridget’s Catholic Church or a favorite charity.
