Corinne E. Brown, 94, of Oronoco,MN and formerly of Stewartville,Mn died on Thursday (January 7, 2021) of natural causes, at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island,MN where she had been a resident since 2016.
Corinne Elizabeth Jackson was born July 10, 1926 in Goodhue County,MN to Homer and Elizabeth(Collins) Jackson. She grew up on the family farm, attended country school and Pine Island H.S. Corinne was married on September 26, 1946 in Mazeppa,MN to Allen “Bud” Brown. Following their marriage the couple lived in Oronoco where they raised their sons and lived for many years. Corinne was a homemaker and was employed at Waters-Conley in Rochester and as a waitress at the White House restaurant and Fisherman’s Inn in Oronoco. She was employed as a nurse’s aide at Pine Haven Care Center for 10 years. Bud was employed at Cowden’s Grocery Store in Oronoco and at Mayo Clinic in Rochester for a number of years until his retirement. The Browns moved to Stewartville in 1985. Corinne spent her later years cleaning homes (her favorite activity!) primarily in Stewartville. Mr. Brown died on September 3, 2007. Corinne was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Stewartville. She enjoyed playing cards, puzzles and growing her house plants. She enjoyed visiting with friends and loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Corinne will be remembered as a selfless woman who had unconditional love for her family.
Corinne is survived by her 3 sons – Dennis of Rochester; Robert(Sue) of Houston,TX and James(Diane) of Stewartville ; 11 grandchildren and 14 great -grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband – Allen, her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
In keeping with Corinne’s wishes, a private family burial and committal service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville with Rev. Lyle Fritsch officiating.
