Carole A. Darling

Carole A. Darling, 77, of Rochester, MN died on Monday (June 8th, 2020) at the Stewartville Care Center, where she had been residing since January of this year.

Carole Ann Neubauer was born on March 4th, 1943 in Austin, MN to Walter and Harriet (Kingsley) Neubauer.  She grew up in Austin, where she attended school, graduating from Austin H.S. in 1961.  Carole was married in 1961 to John Darling.  The couple lived in Austin for a short time before moving to Minneapolis, MN.  They were later divorced.  Carole moved to Stewartville where she raised her children and made her home for a number of years.  She was employed as a secretary at Tom Healy Law Office in Stewartville and local law offices for many years.  She was then employed with Olmsted County Social Services as a clerical assistant, until her retirement.  Carole was a past member of the United Methodist Church in Austin.  She enjoyed reading, following the Vikings and Twins, the occasional trip to the casino with her life partner – Jim ‘JP’ Prokasky and spending time with her family. 

Carole is survived by a daughter Kim Harrington of Coal City, IL and a son David Darling of Rochester, MN; 7 grandchildren – Jennipher Harrington, Nicole Libner, Thomas Harrington, Raymond Thompson, John Youngblood, Jordan Arnold, D.J. Sturgis and 9 great-grandchildren; her brother Jerry (Barb) Neubauer of Stewartville, her sister Nancy (Robert) Dickerson of Rochester, MN and her many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and long-time life companion Jim ‘JP’ Prokasky. 

In keeping with Carole’s wishes there will be no services or visitation at this time.  A private family committal service and burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville with Rev.
