Marjorie E. Hillman Obituary

The funeral service for Marjorie E. Hillman, 85, of Racine, MN will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday (November 30, 2019) at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville, MN with Rev. Kim Kyllo officiating. Surrounded by loved ones, Mrs. Hillman passed away peacefully on Friday (November 22, 2019) at Mayo Clinic Rochester - St. Mary’s Campus.

Marjorie Emma Weaver was born to Claude and Edna (Nasers) Weaver on October 8, 1934 in Sibley, IA. One of nine children, she moved as a young girl with her family to S.E. Minnesota, where she grew up in a loving family in the Salem Corners area and attended Salem Corners Country School. On March 27, 1953, Marjorie was united in marriage to Gene Hillman at First Baptist Church in Rochester, MN. After their marriage they lived in Babbitt, MN and then returned to rural Racine to live on the Hillman Family Farm. She was employed as a housekeeper at St. Marys Hospital for a brief time prior to becoming a homemaker and farmwife. Gene farmed and was a heavy equipment operator. Marjorie was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church and was so grateful for the support they provided through the years. After Gene became ill, the care she provided him during his chronic illness was a testimony to the love and devotion she shared with her entire family. Mr. Hillman died on September 7, 2001. Marjorie was passionate about her family and enjoyed being the hostess to neighbors, family and friends. While visiting you always were guaranteed: a wink and a giggle, a home-cooked meal and homemade cookies. Marjorie was the glue that held the family together, and prided herself in staying connected to her immediate and extended family. Her gift of gab was truly a gift… she kept everyone in the know, and loved telling others how proud she was of her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbors. She enjoyed gardening and canning, playing bingo and cards, and taking bus trip to casinos.

Marjorie is survived by 2 daughters - Linda Stejskal of Spring Valley, MN and Cindy Rieken (Keith Beckman) of Kasson, MN, 5 grandchildren - Jenny (Cory) Mentlick, Tammy (Dan) Zimmerman, Jaimi (Mark Hettinger) Stejskal, Jeremy Stejskal (Autumn Anderson), Jared (Nicole) Stejskal and 13 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Kenneth (Elsie) Weaver of Rochester, Harley (JoAnn) Weaver of Champlin, MN and 2 sister-in-laws Mavis Weaver of Kasson, MN and Jan Weaver of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, her parents, 3 brothers - Virgil, Ernest and Harvey Weaver and 3 sisters - Bernice Baker, Juanita Wright and Betty Aaby.

A time of visitation for family and friends will take place from 5 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday (November 29, 2019) at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville and

1 hr. prior to the service at the church on Saturday morning. Burial and a committal service will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville. Condolences and memories of Marjorie are welcome at www.griffin-gray.com
