Lucille L. Ginapp Obituary

The funeral service for Lucille L. Ginapp , 91, of rural Dexter, MN will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday (September 29, 2018) at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Sargeant,MN with Rev. Ronald Prigge officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Ginapp died on Tuesday (September 25, 2018) of natural causes at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield,MN, where she had been a resident since April of  2017.

Lucille Lois Soltow was born on March 22, 1927 in rural Ossian,IA to Paul and Lois (Goldsworthy) Soltow.  She moved with her family as her father’s farm work changed during the Depression,  attending country schools in Iowa and attending and graduating from Canton H.S. in 1946. Lucille was married on September 24, 1946 at her parent’s home in Canton to Ruben C. Ginapp. The couple farmed near Ellendale,MN before moving to rural Sargeant, where they farmed and raised their family. Lucille was a homemaker and farmwife and Ruben was a lifelong farmer and also was employed at Mower County Service Co. for 17 years. Mr. Ginapp died on November 30, 1988. Lucille with the help of her family operated Country Greenhouse and Nursery for over 30 years. A seasonal greenhouse she sold seedlings, saplings and wedding and funeral floral arrangements. She continued to make her home on the Ginapp Family Farmstead until 2017. Lucille was a longtime active  member of St. Johns Lutheran Church volunteering with it’s Ladies Aid activities and teaching Sunday and Bible school. She enjoyed her vegetable garden and canning and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan - win or lose! She enjoyed playing and winning at cards and collected 3 china cabinets worth of salt and pepper shakers.  Lucille enjoyed time spent visiting with friends and loved time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lucille is survived by 1 son and 2 daughters – Gary of rural Dexter,MN; Diane Puodziunas of White Bear Lake,MN and Ruby(Ray) Mundt of rural Spring Valley,MN; 7 grandchildren – Jason Ginapp(Jen Montgomery), Kristen(Troy) Zahradnik, Monica(Joe) Pexa, Michael Puodziunas( Bobbie Printz),  Matthew Puodziunas(Tiffany Henry), Amanda(Jason) Irsfeld and Scott(Starrla) Mundt; 9  great-grandchildren – Emma, Gabrielle, Drake, Josie, Sebastian, Roman, Kaitlynn, Paige and Landon; her brother - Neil(Arleen) Soltow of Decorah,IA; many nieces and nephews and special 2nd cousins. She was preceded  in death by her husband - Ruben, her grandson – Steve Mundt, her parents,  daughter-in-law – Kerry Jo Ginapp, son-in-law – Casmier Puodziunas, nephew – Scott Soltow and an infant brother – Wayne Arnold Soltow.

A time of visitation for family and friends will take place from 5 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday (September 28, 2018) at Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville,MN and 1 hr. prior to the service at the church on Saturday morning.
