Lloyd F. Hebig

Lloyd F. Hebig, 82, of Stewartville, MN died on Friday (February 3, 2023) of natural causes at his home.

Lloyd Francis Hebig was born on November 29, 1940 in Cresco, IA to Archie and Sylvia(Jorgenson) Hebig.  He grew up on the family farm in rural Spring Valley, attended Spring Valley schools graduating from Spring Valley HS in 1958. He enlisted into the US Army in 1962 serving 3 years. Following his discharge he continued to serve 4 years in the Army Reserve. Lloyd was married in 1968 to Eileen Lily and they were later divorced. He later moved to Colorado, then onto Oklahoma before returning to the Spring Valley area. Before settling down in Stewartville.  He was employed for a number of years at Boyum Foods in Stewartville and also was employed as a caretaker at the Interstate 90 rest stop between High Forest and Dexter, MN. He enjoyed watching QVC, gardening, fishing, and tinkering in his backyard. Lloyd loved his family and enjoyed helping his granddaughters and watching his great grandchildren.

Lloyd is survived by his daughter – Jodie Smith of Minnesota City, MN; his sister – Jeannie Niemeyer and brother – Lynn(Phyllis) Hebig both of Spring Valley, MN;  4 grand-daughters – Ashley(Apollo) Castillo, Samantha Smith, Teresa(Chris) Daniels and Carmon(Wade) Hoffer and great grandchildren –  Nathanial, Solara, David, Elijah, Emitt and Aspyn and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In keeping with Lloyd’s wishes no services or visitation will be held. A private family burial will take place at MN State Veteran’s Cemetery in Preston, MN at a later date.
