Gordon W. Kuiper

The funeral service for Gordon W.Kuiper, 79, of rural Dexter,MN will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday(April 5, 2018) at Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville,MN with Rev. David Hoot officiating. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville. Mr. Kuiper died on Thursday (March 26, 2018) of natural causes at Mayo Clinic Hospital - Rochester - St. Mary's Campus.

Gordon William Kuiper was born on June 8, 1938 in Pleasant Valley Twsp, Mower County, MN to Peter and Dora(Bushman) Kuiper. He grew up on the family farm, attended rural school and graduated from Stewartville H.S. in 1956. He was a lifelong farmer who lived on the Kuiper Family farmstead until failing health caused him to move to Grand Meadow Health Care Center in Grand Meadow,MN, in the past few months. He was a past member of the Lutheran Church. Gordon was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and canning, traveling, mowing and taking care of his farm equipment and listening to old tyme country music on the radio.

Gordon is survived by his nephew - Lester(Karen) Yeadon of Washburn,WI. and his neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters - Florence Kuiper, Gladys Yeadon and a nephew - Glen Yeadon and 3 brothers - Ralph Kuiper, Peter "Bud" Kuiper and Alfred Kuiper.

A time of visitation for family and friends will take place from 5 to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday (April 4, 2018) at Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville and 1 hr. prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday morning.
