Gloria A. Gerber Obituary

The funeral service for Gloria A. Gerber, 78, a lifelong rural Stewartville,MN resident will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday(August 18, 2018) in the Timothy Chapel at Autumn Ridge Church in Rochester,MN with Rev. Paul McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville. Mrs. Gerber passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Tuesday( Aug 14, 2018) in Red Wing,MN.

Gloria Ann Schleusner was born on March 11, 1940 on the family farm in Pleasant Grove Twsp, Olmsted County to Harry and Esther(Kaldenberg) Schleusner. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. She graduated from Stewartville High School in 1958 and attended Rochester Community College. Gloria was married on Dec 28, 1963 in Rochester to Robert “Bob” Gerber. They moved to Pleasant Grove Twsp., where they farmed and raised their children and have continued to live all 54 years of their marriage. Gloria was a homemaker and farmwife and also was employed at IBM, Peoples Cooperative Power and Fleet Farm, all in Rochester. Bob is a lifelong farmer. Gloria was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Rochester where she taught Sunday School for many years and she and Bob have been members of Autumn Ridge Church since it’s dedication in 2005. Gloria enjoyed baking, sewing, travel, and gardening. She especially enjoyed making special treats for her grandchildren each time they would come to visit.

Gloria is survived by her husband –Bob and her three children- Boyd Gerber, Carleen Gerber, and Natalie (Jason) Faas and her 3 grandchildren- Nicole Gerber, Ashlynn Faas, and Marshell Faas; Sister - Betty(Gary) Miller of rural Stewartville and brother – Tom(Deb) Schleusner of Ft. Ripley,MN; brother-in-law – Paul(Ruth) Gerber of Pleasant Grove Twsp and sister-in-law – Patty(Gary) Stensrud of Stewartville and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A time of visitation for family and friends will take place from 5 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday(August 17, 2018) at Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville and 1 hr. prior to the service at Autumn Ridge Church on Saturday morning.
