Dennis D. Yetter, 68, of Rochester,MN died on Saturday (August 24, 2019) of natural causes at his home.
Dennis Daniel Yetter was born on December 29, 1950 in Rochester,MN to James and Velma(Koplin) Yetter. He grew up on the family farm in rural Chatfield,MN, attended Chatfield schools, graduating from Chatfield H.S. in 1969. He enlisted into the U.S. Army serving 2 tours of duty in Vietnam and also in Germany. Dennis also served in the U.S. Army Reserve and the National Guard. Following his discharge in 1973, he returned to S.E. Minnesota where he was employed as a baker at Wonder Bread in Rochester. This began Dennis’s long career as a professional baker, including a number of years at the bakery at Barlows in Rochester. Dennis was married on September 20, 1996 in Northfield,MN to Lynette M. Jackson. They lived in Northfield before moving to Gaylord,MN where they owned and operated the Gaylord Bakery. Following his retirement, Dennis and Lynette moved to Kettle River,MN where they lived for a few years before moving to Rochester in January of this year. Dennis enjoyed following the Twins and Vikings, playing cards and time spent with his family.
Dennis is survived by his wife Lynette and stepson Daniel Klas of Minneapolis, MN; 2 sisters – Judy Adler of Stewartville and Linda(Daryl) Pratt of Rochester and his brother – Kevin(Monica) Yetter of Rochester; special friends – Kathleen Burbul and Cecil Denney, both of Kettle River,Mn; nieces and nephews and 4 children from a previous marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother - Harry Yetter.
In keeping with Dennis’s wishes no service or visitation are being held. A committal service with military graveside honors will take place at 2:00 P.M.on Friday (August 30, 2019) at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston,MN.
