David J. Billman

The memorial service for David J. Billman, 61, of Oronoco,MN will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday(March 17, 2018) at the Chatfield Lutheran Church in Chatfield,MN with Rev. Mark Docken officiating. Mr. Billman died unexpectedly on Tuesday( March 13, 2018) of natural causes at his home.

David John Billman was born on August 9, 1956 in Rochester,MN to William and Dorothy(Pooler) Billman. He grew up on the family farm, attended Chatfield schools and graduated from Chosen Valley H.S. in 1974. He then attended the University of MN for a short time. David was a heavy equipment operator for many years on various commercial projects in S.E. MN and was a member of the IUOE (International Union of Operating Engineers) and Local 49ers Union in Rochester. He was a past member of the Chatfield Lutheran Church as a young boy and teenager. David enjoyed hunting and fishing, antiques and time spent with his family.

David is survived by his daughter - Traci Ellingson of Rochester; 3 sisters and 1 brother - Debra Witts of Red Wing,MN; Brenda Schultz of Pine Island,MN; Becky(Rich) Ellinghuysen of St. Paul,MN and Kent(Cindy) Billman of Zumbrota,MN and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A time of visitation for family and friends will take place 1 hr. prior to the service at the church on Saturday afternoon. Burial and a committal service will take place in Chatfield Cemetery.
