Burt W. Stiles

The memorial service for Burt W. Stiles, 69, of High Forest,MN will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday(June 16, 2018) at High Forest Community Church with Rev. Marcus Quam officiating. Burial will take place in High Forest Cemetery. Mr. Stiles died on Saturday (June  9,  2018) of natural causes at Mayo Clinic Rochester – St. Marys Campus, where he had been a patient for the past week.

Burt William Stiles was born on August 7, 1948 in High Forest,MN to Burt “Cap” and Odessa Mae(Belcher) Stiles. He grew up on the family farm, attended Stewartville schools, graduating from Stewartville H.S. in 1968. He served in the U.S. Navy and following his discharge returned to the High Forest area. Burt was employed at Hebl Construction in High Forest, All – American Co-op in Stewartville and at Arcon Manufacturing in Stewartville for a number of years. After some health issues,  Burt has been a resident at the Stewartville Care Center for the past 4 years. He began attending High Forest Community Church as a young boy and was a past member of the Stewartville American Legion Post 164. Burt enjoyed watching old westerns, going to Subway, fishing and time spent with his family.

Burt is survived by 2 sisters and 2 brothers – Alden “Al”(Beverly) Stiles of Rochester; Edith Whitmore of Winona,MN; Gordon(Barb) Stiles of rural Stewartville,MN; Elda Reetz (Peter Weyer) of Swartara,MN and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister –  Alice Wickman.                                      .                     

A time of visitation for family and friends will take place 1 hr. prior to the service at the church on Saturday morning.  Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville. Condolences may be left at www.griffin-gray.com.
